Responsibilities
- Design and build Drupal 10 sites with content types, fields, views, custom entities, custom modules, and theming.
- Implement complex multi-step forms, conditional logic, file uploads, validation, submission handling, and secure one-time submission workflows.
- Evaluate, configure, harden, and use contributed or out-of-the-box Drupal modules before developing custom code.
- Develop reusable component libraries, configuration-driven patterns, custom connectors, and integration modules for enterprise services.
- Run and optimize containerized Drupal applications on Kubernetes, including caching, performance tuning, scalability, deployment configuration, and configuration management.
- Maintain Drupal security advisories, updates, patches, vulnerability remediation, immutable audit logging, records retention, release evidence, and ATO/security authorization activities.
- Ensure themes and components meet Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility requirements.
- Integrate Drupal with Login.gov, Appian/WISE/CAPS/PWRS, Kafka, document scanning and file services, analytics, and DOL identity and access management.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of web development experience and 5 years of hands-on Drupal experience, including Drupal 9 or 10.
- Strong PHP, Symfony components, Twig theming, and Drupal Entity, Form, Plugin, and Services API experience.
- Demonstrated expertise with the Drupal Webform module, custom module development, and contributed module evaluation and hardening.
- Experience developing REST and JSON:API integrations and integrating third-party enterprise systems.
- Experience with Composer dependency management, Drush, and Git workflows.
- Experience running Drupal in Docker and Kubernetes containers with CI/CD promotion.
- Accessible front-end development experience with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript to WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
- Substantial experience using AI-assisted programming tools in a governed environment.
- Experience with PACE or comparable Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms and MySQL-backed Drupal deployments.
- Experience implementing secure form workflows, file upload and scanning, audit trails, and API or event integrations.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience is considered.
- Preferred: Acquia Certified Drupal Developer or equivalent certification, Appian or comparable BPM/case-management integration experience, Kafka producer/consumer implementation, and AWS experience.
