Base Salary
$70k - $100k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design and development of commerce applications using Java and Spring Boot microservices.
- Drive loosely coupled, independently deployable microservice architecture decisions for reliability, maintainability, and performance.
- Develop reusable server-side code, domain models, business logic, and integration components for commerce workflows.
- Coordinate backend services, frontend interfaces, and data flows to support full-stack customer experiences.
- Optimize application performance through profiling, database tuning, and service communication improvements.
- Configure and extend RESTful APIs for secure internal and external system integrations.
- Apply secure coding, input validation, access control, and data protection practices.
- Define and support build, testing, and deployment steps for continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, testers, and developers to translate business goals into technical solutions.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and pair programming.
- Coordinate defect analysis, root-cause investigation, corrective actions, and prevention of recurring issues.
- Document technical designs, service contracts, and operational runbooks.
- Participate in hybrid collaboration ceremonies and manage dependencies without travel.
Requirements
- At least five years of professional experience is stated; the qualifications section requests eight to twelve years of software development experience.
- Significant enterprise software development experience involving Java-based applications.
- Deep hands-on expertise with Spring Boot microservices, including service design, dependency management, configuration management, and enterprise integration.
- Advanced Java and object-oriented development skills.
- Experience with commerce full-stack engineering across backend services, frontend layers, and data stores.
- Knowledge of relational or NoSQL databases, query optimization, and transaction handling.
- Understanding of unit testing, integration testing, and automated regression testing strategies.
- Familiarity with version control workflows, branching strategies, and code reviews.
- Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
