Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex Splunk dashboards, interactive reports, saved searches, lookups, and alert frameworks.
- Build, rebuild, and customize Splunk Apps and Add-ons for business needs.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment, testing, and configuration management for Splunk apps and infrastructure.
- Optimize SPL queries for search efficiency, resource utilization, and performance.
- Manage data onboarding, field extraction, parsing, and automated ingestion routines using Regex.
- Use Python and Shell scripting to automate maintenance, configuration updates, and integrations.
- Collaborate in Agile ceremonies and establish Splunk engineering and support standards and best practices.
Requirements
- Engineering or IT graduate with 4+ years of industry experience specializing in Splunk development and DevOps automation.
- At least 4 years of enterprise Splunk implementation experience, including custom Apps/Add-ons and advanced alert management.
- Hands-on experience with Git or GitHub, CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins or GitLab CI, and automated deployment tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
- Practical experience with Splunk Universal Forwarders, Heavy Forwarders, Indexers, Deployment Server, Search Heads, and License Manager.
- Expert proficiency with SPL and Regex for optimized queries and data extraction.
- Hands-on proficiency with Shell scripting and Python.
- Strong practical knowledge of Linux, including RHEL or Ubuntu, and Windows environments.
- Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery models.
- Splunk Power User, Advanced Power User, or Splunk Certified Developer certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of Kafka-based data ingestion pipelines and familiarity with ServiceNow, JIRA, and Confluence are preferred.
