Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build scalable, secure, and high-performance microservices.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions with product managers, architects, and developers.
- Implement clean code, modular design, unit testing, and other coding best practices.
- Integrate with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Participate in code reviews, provide mentorship, and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Support the SOLD Simplification initiative, including legacy-platform modernization, hardware refresh, and removal of redundant functionality.
- Work in an Agile environment with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience in Java backend development.
- Strong proficiency with Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs.
- Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and JPA/Hibernate.
- Knowledge of Maven or Gradle build tools.
- Familiarity with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Exposure to migrating legacy platforms to a modern technology stack.
- Understanding of microservices architecture patterns.
- Preferred experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP; Docker and Kubernetes; Kafka or RabbitMQ; Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Splunk; and JUnit or Mockito.
- Ability to address risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, and role-specific technical skills.
