Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build scalable, secure, and high-performance microservices.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions with product managers, architects, and developers.
- Apply clean code, modular design, unit testing, and other coding best practices.
- Integrate with relational and NoSQL databases and troubleshoot production issues through root-cause analysis.
- Participate in code reviews, mentor peers, and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Support the SOLD Simplification initiative, including legacy-platform migration, platform compliance, hardware refresh, and removal of redundant functionality.
- Work in an Agile environment with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience in Java backend development and strong proficiency with Java 8 or above.
- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security, and REST API design and development.
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle and ORM tools such as JPA or Hibernate.
- Knowledge of Maven or Gradle and familiarity with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Exposure to migrating legacy platforms to a modern technology stack.
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP; Docker and Kubernetes; microservices architecture; Kafka or RabbitMQ; monitoring tools; and JUnit or Mockito is valued.
- Ability to apply risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, and role-specific technical skills.
