Responsibilities
- Design scalable IBM Sterling OMS architectures for omnichannel order capture, orchestration, and fulfillment.
- Develop solution designs covering Sterling OMS configuration, customization, integrations, data models, and process flows.
- Optimize Sterling OMS performance through transaction analysis, configuration tuning, and infrastructure recommendations.
- Administer environments, including provisioning, property management, deployment planning, monitoring, and application-health oversight.
- Guide development and support teams through technical direction, design and code reviews, troubleshooting, and mentoring.
- Design and validate interfaces between Sterling OMS and ecommerce, ERP, payment, and other upstream or downstream systems.
- Establish logging, alerting, dashboards, documentation, runbooks, and operational standards.
- Support defect analysis, incident resolution, testing strategies, release evaluations, upgrades, migrations, and production cutovers.
- Coordinate with infrastructure and database teams on capacity, resilience, high availability, and disaster recovery.
- Communicate architectural decisions, risks, dependencies, constraints, and tradeoffs to stakeholders and contribute to planning and estimation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline.
- Seven to nine years of overall professional experience, with significant experience in order management platforms and complex distributed systems.
- Deep hands-on expertise in IBM Sterling Order Management System, including configuration, pipeline design, rule authoring, and extension development.
- Strong IBM Sterling OMS administration experience covering environment provisioning, property management, deployment coordination, and performance tuning.
- Experience with REST-based services, message queues, or enterprise integration tools.
- Practical knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and data modeling for design, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language used for Sterling OMS customization and automation.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in hybrid arrangements with distributed teams and day-shift schedules.
- Commitment to quality, security, compliance, development standards, code reviews, and company policies.
