Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions with agile teams.
  • Lead the design and architecture of platform-level features, including design patterns, reliability, scaling, and backup and restore.
  • Collaborate with product teams, business stakeholders, architects, and cross-functional partners to define requirements and align priorities.
  • Communicate technical risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Champion code quality, testing strategies, observability, deployment safety, and operational excellence.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues involving distributed services.
  • Mentor internal talent and participate in recruiting engineering team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience with a strong backend or full-stack focus and experience operating at a principal engineer level.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs, including API contracts, versioning, and error handling.
  • Deep experience designing AWS architectures using serverless, containerized, and event-driven solutions.
  • Experience with asynchronous communication patterns and brokers such as Kafka.
  • Proficiency setting up CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, code quality checks, and deployment strategies.
  • Experience building observable systems for performance tracking, distributed tracing, and failure troubleshooting.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills when working with product managers, architects, and engineers.
  • Preferred experience with Terraform or OpenTofu, Bedrock Data Automation, AWS Textract, AWS Transcribe, AI/ML solutions, evaluation frameworks, and customized CI/CD workflows.
