Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain internet-scale applications.
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
  • Deliver system design, application development, testing, and operational stability across the software development lifecycle.
  • Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams, including code review, refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, and incident/root-cause analysis.
  • Establish validation standards for secure coding, peer review, automated testing, correctness, performance, and security of AI-assisted outputs.
  • Promote reuse of proven engineering patterns and automation within the software development lifecycle and toolchain.
  • Develop Java software using Spring, Spring Web, Spring Boot, and Spring Security.
  • Work with relational databases, SQL, and data integrity constraints.
  • Partner with stakeholders and collaborate in large teams to achieve organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Advanced proficiency in Java.
  • Experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and setting expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security controls.
  • Experience coaching senior engineers or leads on compliant AI-assisted engineering usage patterns.
  • Preferred experience with Maven, Git/Bitbucket, JSON, YAML, Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, TDD, automated testing tools, Jenkins, Go, JavaScript, Node.js, HTML5, CSS3, and Bootstrap.
