Responsibilities
- Collaborate with agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions.
- Partner with product and cross-functional teams to align priorities and timelines.
- Lead the design and architecture of platform-level features, including design patterns, reliability, scaling, and backup and restore.
- Communicate technical risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Champion code quality, testing strategies, observability, and deployment safety.
- Guide a squad of engineers and lead development of independent components and sub-groups.
- Mentor internal talent and support recruiting efforts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with a strong backend or full-stack focus and principal-level experience.
- Proven ability to design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs, including contract design, versioning, and error handling.
- Deep expertise designing and building AWS architectures using serverless, containerized, and event-driven solutions.
- Experience with asynchronous communication patterns and brokers such as Kafka.
- Proficiency in setting up CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, code quality checks, and deployment strategies.
- Experience building observable distributed systems for performance tracking, tracing, and failure troubleshooting.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with product managers, architects, and engineers.
- Preferred experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or OpenTofu.
- Preferred proficiency with Bedrock Data Automation, AWS Textract, Transcribe, AI/ML solutions, and evaluation frameworks.
- Preferred experience customizing CI/CD workflows and managing multiple environments.
