Responsibilities
- Guide an immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks, activities, collaboration, and delivery practices.
- Set team-wide expectations for output, engineering practices, and collaboration.
- Anticipate cross-team dependencies and deliver products and applications aligned with business requirements.
- Manage stakeholder relationships and ensure work meets compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements.
- Lead adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering, SDLC, and TLM automation practices.
- Establish validation, secure-data-handling, peer-review, automated-testing, and reusable-pattern standards for AI-assisted development.
- Support code review, refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident analysis, and root-cause analysis through approved automation capabilities.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 12+ years of applied experience.
- Experience leading technology projects and working at code level.
- Proficiency in automation, continuous delivery methods, and all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
- In-depth financial services and IT systems knowledge, including practical cloud-native experience.
- Deep expertise in core Java, Spring Boot, J2EE, messaging systems, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Dapr, Flink, Kafka, and Apache Iceberg.
- Proficiency in UNIX, Apache Tomcat, SQL, and JavaScript frameworks.
- Experience designing distributed applications, managing databases, developing web services, and working with Oracle DDL, DML, and stored procedures.
- Experience with Selenium for test automation and the ability to debug complex systems and drive technical discussions independently.
- Experience leading responsible adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and delivery tools across engineering teams.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, resiliency, security, governance, and compliant engineering workflows.
- Preferred experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, plus expertise in technology disciplines and large-scale systems, particularly in financial services.
