Responsibilities
- Deploy and configure database, streaming, processing, and other data platform components.
- Build scheduled and event-driven ingestion pipelines, including change data capture where required.
- Develop transformation logic and business rules to curate raw data into analytical datasets.
- Implement data quality rules, automated validation, metadata, lineage, and access registration.
- Design and maintain scalable data platforms and end-to-end data-centric solutions.
- Collaborate with business analysts, platform and DevOps consultants, project managers, technical leads, and enterprise architects.
- Optimize data pipeline performance and provide status reporting and blocker resolution support.
- Construct high-quality code using sound coding standards and practices.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience designing and maintaining data pipelines, data transformation, medallion-layer solutions, or data modelling.
- Experience solutioning and building scalable data platforms.
- Experience with at least one leading cloud provider: Azure, AWS, or Google.
- Experience with at least two of Java, Scala, and Python.
- Eligibility for Canadian Secret Clearance is required.
- A bachelor's degree or completion of a college program in computer science or a related field.
- English proficiency is required for regular interaction with stakeholders across Canada, the United States, and other global locations.
- Preferred experience includes production implementation, real-time analytics applications, batch and stream processing, and machine learning with Spark or similar tools.
- Preferred experience includes Oracle, Informatica, Spark, Kafka, Presto, Hive, Cassandra, or another open-source technology.
- A Certified Data Solution Architect credential in one or more cloud technologies is preferred.
- Ability to manage concurrent requests, prioritize work, and deliver is preferred.
