Responsibilities
- Own the technical architecture and roadmap for the Perpetuals experience across Extension and Mobile.
- Set technical standards for precision handling, state consistency, real-time updates, and resilience to feed or connectivity failures.
- Drive technical alignment and delivery across experience, backend, and protocol integration teams.
- Identify and de-risk complex technical problems and make build-versus-buy and architecture trade-off decisions.
- Partner with the Engineering Manager on prioritization and technical direction.
- Mentor engineers, lead design and architecture reviews, and improve engineering quality through documentation and code review.
- Represent Perpetuals engineering in cross-functional planning with Product, Design, and engineering leadership.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience working with web and mobile-based technologies.
- Experience building trading, financial, or other correctness-critical systems involving precision, race conditions, and state consistency.
- Experience with real-time data systems, streaming price feeds, optimistic UI updates, and resilient experiences for unreliable networks.
- Track record of leading multi-team technical initiatives without direct reporting authority at demonstrated Staff-level scope.
- Hands-on experience with React and React Native.
- Extensive experience with modern JavaScript, including ES6 and TypeScript.
- Experience with blockchain fundamentals across multiple blockchain architectures.
- Strong knowledge of cross-platform and browser compatibility.
- Experience developing medium- to large-scale applications across the stack with sensible abstractions, testing, linting, and coding standards.
- Experience consuming and building APIs and understanding Continuous Integration.
- Strong understanding of financial and trading security risks, including transaction integrity, state-update race conditions, precision and rounding bugs, XSS, and CSRF.
- Bonus experience with perpetuals or derivatives protocols such as Hyperliquid or Lighter, trading infrastructure, cross-chain bridges, transaction lifecycles, interoperability solutions, Web3, decentralized teams, Web3 wallets, React Native, Objective-C, or Swift.
- Excellent English communication, teamwork, flexibility, initiative, organization, and willingness to learn.
