Responsibilities
- Engineer and continuously improve ServiceNow API integration standards, authentication services, and platform security controls.
- Design, build, deploy, and maintain reusable integrations using REST APIs, SOAP services, IntegrationHub, Scripted REST APIs, and MID Server capabilities.
- Develop OAuth authentication frameworks, token management patterns, certificate-based authentication, and secure connectivity standards.
- Manage API lifecycle capabilities including design standards, versioning, documentation, monitoring, deprecation, and retirement.
- Define and enforce integration, authentication, application security, and platform control standards.
- Build platform security guardrails involving ACLs, scoped application security, API access controls, credential handling, and integration controls.
- Implement monitoring, logging, observability, telemetry, alerting, and operational controls for integrations, APIs, and authentication services.
- Respond to security alerts, incidents, and service degradation events; troubleshoot root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Perform platform changes, configuration updates, integration deployments, and operational maintenance aligned with change, risk, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, risk, architecture, infrastructure, product, application, and operations partners.
- Create technical documentation, implementation standards, reference patterns, support runbooks, and knowledge articles.
- Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance and training, lead complex initiatives, and contribute to long-term technical plans and engineering standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of professional software development experience.
- Deep knowledge of multiple programming languages, software architecture, and design principles.
- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, testing, deployment, and security practices.
- Preferred experience includes 5 or more years of hands-on ServiceNow platform engineering, development, administration, integration, or operations experience.
- Preferred experience includes enterprise-scale ServiceNow integrations, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, certificates, service accounts, identity provider integrations, and API or platform security standards.
- Preferred experience includes production platform monitoring, incident response, operational troubleshooting, change execution, and collaboration with cybersecurity, risk, compliance, architecture, infrastructure, and application teams.
- Preferred certifications include ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, ServiceNow Certified Application Developer, and ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist.
- Preferred experience includes ServiceNow IntegrationHub Enterprise, Flow Designer, MID Server, spoke development, scripted integrations, platform-native automation, API gateways, event-driven integrations, orchestration platforms, and message queues.
- Preferred experience includes Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Ping, CyberArk, secrets management, certificate management, enterprise identity and access management, GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps, deployment automation, and DevSecOps practices.
- Preferred experience includes AI, automation, agentic, or workflow orchestration use cases consuming ServiceNow APIs.
- Preferred familiarity with SOX, FFIEC, NIST, PCI, or similar security and regulatory control environments.
