Responsibilities
- Own the design, implementation, rollout, and ongoing operation of major third-party, customer, and internal integrations.
- Build and maintain integrations with data providers across KYB, KYC/IDV, AML, fraud, banking, and identity domains.
- Design, evolve, and operate public APIs and SDKs with versioning, backward compatibility, authentication, rate limiting, and strong developer experience.
- Write production backend and, where needed, frontend code using Node.js, TypeScript, Nest.js, and React.js.
- Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, indexing, performance, and data integrity.
- Build event-driven workflows with Kafka and Redis for enrichment, retries, dead-lettering, and backpressure.
- Deploy, monitor, debug, and improve containerized services in Kubernetes.
- Refactor legacy integration code into modular, testable, swappable adapters and handle production incidents.
- Provide technical leadership through code reviews, mentoring, design work, and cross-functional communication.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Demonstrated ownership of major production features or subsystems, preferably involving integrations or platform APIs.
- Deep expertise in the Node.js and TypeScript ecosystem.
- Strong system design skills involving retries, idempotency, circuit breakers, rate limiting, webhook handling, and graceful degradation.
- Experience designing or operating public APIs or SDKs.
- Hands-on PostgreSQL experience, including schema design and query optimization.
- Experience building or maintaining event-driven systems using Kafka.
- Experience operating containerized applications in Kubernetes.
- Experience refactoring complex or legacy integration code into modular, well-tested adapters.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and improving team quality standards.
- Ability to work effectively with ambiguous and changing partner requirements.
- Bonus experience with KYB, KYC/IDV, AML, fraud, banking, identity data providers, public SDKs, AWS services, Terraform, Redis caching, Redshift and ETL pipelines, Python, or fintech and regulated data environments.
