Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java and Spring Boot services within a microservices architecture.
- Lead development efforts using event-driven architectures and Kafka or similar messaging systems.
- Architect, design, and optimize relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support partner integrations and expand Wise’s global payment platform.
- Participate in code reviews, champion coding best practices, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- Extensive experience with Java and Spring Boot for backend services, or similar languages and frameworks.
- Strong expertise in microservices architecture and event-driven design.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and data integrity.
- Proficiency in domain-driven design for modeling complex business domains is preferred.
- A strong product mindset, customer focus, and interest in data-driven decision-making.
- Strong problem-solving, independent working, collaboration, and communication skills.
