Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end architecture of an eight-stage Azure regulatory content pipeline.
- Design pipeline architecture from requirement intake through XML delivery and QA acknowledgement.
- Define API contracts for requirement intake, previous-version XML retrieval, and automated QA acknowledgement.
- Design event-driven integrations using Kafka or Azure Service Bus.
- Set coding, review, and deployment standards and lead technical design reviews.
- Mentor engineers working across backend, monitoring, XML, and QA automation.
- Partner with the Engineering Manager on sprint scoping, technical risk, and delivery sequencing.
- Deliver architecture blueprints, automation designs, and a skeleton end-to-end pipeline within the first 90 days.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend or distributed-systems engineering experience with prior technical-lead or architect responsibility.
- Expertise in Python API development with FastAPI and REST API design.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka or Azure Service Bus and event-driven architectures.
- Strong experience with Azure compute, storage, networking, and identity.
- Working knowledge of XML Schema and structured-content pipelines.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms applied to high-volume pipeline design.
- Proven high-level and low-level system design and architecture capabilities, including scalability, fault tolerance, and capacity planning.
- Performance engineering experience with profiling, load analysis, distributed-service tuning, and application performance monitoring.
- Preferred experience in RegTech, publishing, content-processing platforms, SLI/SLO definition, observability, or AI/LLM tooling in engineering workflows.
