Base Salary
$170k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead major initiatives and own significant areas of Shepherd's product experience.
- Work across the stack and collaborate with various disciplines including underwriting and product management.
- Mentor other engineers and contribute to building company culture as the team grows.
- Balance innovation with pragmatic delivery while staying current with emerging technologies.
- Contribute to product strategy and architectural decisions beyond just implementation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a full-stack engineer with a track record of delivering high-impact products.
- Experience with Javascript/Typescript for both backend and frontend development.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in the insurance industry, preferably in an InsurTech or actuarial role.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and excited about shipping products frequently while maintaining quality.
