Responsibilities
- Design and modify reusable components for CBC/Radio-Canada digital platforms, including audio/video player functionality.
- Develop and maintain complex, high-performance Android applications for mobile, tablet, and TV form factors.
- Ensure product quality, standards compliance, application performance, and high-load readiness.
- Participate in Agile Scrum activities, user-story development, sprint planning, retrospectives, deployments, code reviews, and solution releases.
- Proactively identify technical challenges, propose solutions, and stay current with digital development trends.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, technical managers, and development teams.
Requirements
- University degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of software development experience.
- Experience developing complex and high-performance mobile applications.
- Proficiency with Android Studio, Git, and Kotlin.
- Experience developing an application published on Google Play.
- Experience working with code reviews and pull requests.
- Knowledge of programming patterns such as MVP or MVVM.
- Ability to read, produce, and follow software architecture diagrams, including UML and sequence diagrams.
- Bilingual English and French communication skills, spoken and written, are mandatory.
- Knowledge of SOLID principles, Jetpack Compose, ExoPlayer, Kotlin Multiplatform, Dagger, Hilt, Koin, Google architecture components, Maven, audio-video streaming, other programming languages, and design patterns is an asset.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, communication, teamwork, critical-thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Candidates may be required to complete skills and knowledge testing and a criminal record check.
