Base Salary
$227k - $253k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and ship experiments improving monetization, host experiences, content understanding, and personalization for millions of users.
- Evolve backend systems while balancing rapid iteration, code health, reliability, and scalability.
- Ship new product launches and platform capabilities.
- Design shared services and backend infrastructure with a platform mindset.
- Instrument and analyze experiments to guide subsequent iterations.
- Collaborate with founders, engineers, product managers, designers, and data scientists on high-impact features.
- Improve a legacy codebase through pragmatic, maintainable technical tradeoffs.
Requirements
- 4–5 years of backend development experience.
- Strong foundation in languages such as Python or Java.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
- Ability to reason about legacy codebases, maintainability, performance, scaling, data implications, API contracts, shared infrastructure, and distributed systems patterns.
- Ability to scope and deliver MVPs, instrument experiments, analyze results, and balance speed with reliability.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, product managers, designers, and data scientists.
