Responsibilities
- Advise customers during use-case discovery and requirements workshops.
- Create and deliver customer-centric solution designs.
- Present roadmaps, vision, proposed architectures, and business outcomes to technical teams.
- Define technical selling approaches and participate in account penetration and success planning with sales counterparts and solutions engineering management.
- Understand competitive differentiators and the broader technology ecosystem.
- Translate customer feedback into actionable product roadmap items.
- Participate in evangelism activities including blogs, meetups, and industry events.
- Mentor associates and help create and maintain team enablement materials.
- Contribute to internal and external knowledge repositories.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
- 10+ years of professional work experience in a similar position.
- Enterprise software and big data experience.
- Understanding of enterprise operations, security, and data governance challenges.
- Solution architecture or engineering experience, including gathering requirements, whiteboarding, proposing architectures, and hands-on solution design, building, and demonstrations.
- Familiarity with infrastructure, hardware, storage, networking, Java/.NET, SQL, data science, data engineering, and applied science.
- Strong Linux skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Preferred experience with HDFS, YARN, Spark, Impala, Kudu, Solr, NiFi, Kafka, Flink, HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB, Teradata, Netezza, Greenplum, Exadata, R, Python, deep learning frameworks, Talend, DataStage, Informatica BDM, Qlik, Tableau, Zoomdata, IBM, and Oracle.
- An advanced degree and ability to thrive in a changing environment are also preferred.
