Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture for repository, service, facade, DTO, and bridge contracts across Kotlin, platform-specific code, and the Vue.js/TypeScript UI layer.
  • Design, implement, and maintain Kotlin Multiplatform modules for retail POS business capabilities across Android and JVM/Desktop targets.
  • Implement platform-specific Android and desktop integrations using expect/actual patterns while keeping shared business logic platform-independent.
  • Build offline-first flows with local persistence, caching, synchronization readiness, and explicit failure handling.
  • Write clean, maintainable, performant code and improve existing modules through code reviews and refactoring.
  • Create automated unit and integration tests for domain rules, use cases, repositories, bridge contracts, and coroutine-based flows.
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers, QA, product owners, and architects on contracts, requirements, and delivery.
  • Mentor less experienced Kotlin developers and share knowledge about KMP patterns and architectural decisions.
  • Communicate progress, trade-offs, and technical decisions while aligning with team processes.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of Kotlin experience, including platform-scale Kotlin Multiplatform architecture decision-making.
  • Strong system-level Android experience beyond application-level development.
  • Hands-on Kotlin Multiplatform delivery to at least two targets, preferably Android and JVM/Desktop, plus KMP-Swift/iOS interoperability knowledge.
  • Experience with Java-to-Kotlin/KMP migration at platform scale.
  • Architectural leadership, ability to work through ambiguity, and experience designing modular multi-tenant or multi-customer product platforms with extension points.
  • Experience training and mentoring engineers in modern KMP patterns and architectural thinking.
  • Ability to communicate technical trade-offs clearly with senior stakeholders and technical leadership.
  • Strong understanding of Clean Architecture, dependency inversion, repository abstractions, and domain, use-case, infrastructure, and platform layers.
  • Practical Kotlin Coroutines and Flow experience, including structured concurrency, suspend APIs, state and events, cancellation, and error propagation.
  • Experience with offline-first or local-first client architecture, including persistence, caching, synchronization, and conflict handling.
  • Familiarity with dependency injection patterns, preferably Koin.
  • Strong testing discipline using Kotlin Test or equivalent, test doubles, and coroutine testing utilities.
  • Experience integrating REST/OpenAPI-style services, typed DTO mapping, serialization, and resilient client communication.
  • Comfort with Gradle Kotlin DSL, modular builds, and CI-friendly project structures.
  • Effective collaboration with frontend developers, QA, product stakeholders, and architects.
  • Compose Multiplatform experience is preferred.
  • POS or retail embedded-systems experience, including checkout, payment terminals, scale integration, or ESL, is a plus.
  • Desktop JVM client experience, including Electron sidecar or local service integration patterns, is a plus.
  • Understanding of Vue.js 3 and TypeScript for Kotlin-to-UI bridge contract collaboration is a plus.
  • Experience with plugin or extensibility architecture, performance engineering, and POS, retail, payment, promotion, or hardware peripheral integration is a plus.

Benefits

  • Medical benefits, gym support, personalized fitness options, team events, and a Healthy Habits Club.
  • Flexible work-life arrangements supporting an individualized professional and personal-life balance.
  • Mental wellbeing support and an emphasis on work-life balance.
  • Social wellbeing initiatives in a hybrid work environment, including community connections and shared interests.
