Responsibilities
- Lead 2–3 member pods as a hands-on technical lead, owning solution design, coding standards, code reviews, and performance tuning.
- Translate product objectives into technical plans, acceptance criteria, and architectural guardrails focused on reliability, scalability, and security.
- Integrate AI capabilities including inference endpoints, prompt orchestration, RAG, embeddings, and vector search into application workflows with guardrails, auditability, and latency budgets.
- Design resilient data access patterns, including schema modeling, query and index optimization, transaction and locking strategies, and connection pool tuning.
- Build CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, environment promotion strategies, and safe rollout and rollback processes.
- Establish REST and GraphQL API, Kafka event-driven, OAuth2/OIDC, mTLS, and resilience standards.
- Define SLI/SLO practices, instrument services, optimize JVM performance, and lead incident response to reduce MTTR.
- Conduct design and threat modeling reviews, performance benchmarks, and production readiness assessments.
- Mentor engineers and improve code quality, documentation, backlog hygiene, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with product, platform, security, data/AI, and infrastructure teams on technical roadmaps and outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 5–9 years of hands-on software engineering experience delivering Java, Spring, and Spring Boot systems in production.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Framework, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, design patterns, microservices architecture, and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with AI code-assist technologies such as CoPilot, Claude Code, and Windsurf.
- Strong understanding of AI agent architecture and prompt engineering.
- Understanding of DevOps principles, coding best practices, and Agile development.
- Proficiency automating CI/CD pipelines on large container platforms including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with batch monitoring and job scheduling tools such as Airflow, Autosys, and Control-M.
- Proficiency in scripting and SQL, stored procedures, and transaction management.
- Demonstrated experience integrating AI capabilities into production workflows with responsible-use controls.
- Strong RDBMS expertise, preferably Oracle, and data-access performance tuning at scale.
- Practical DevOps and CI/CD automation experience enabling rapid, reliable releases.
