Base Salary
$200k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Deliver major regulatory, ERP, and financial reporting initiatives.
- Build and operate systems supporting PnL calculation, general ledger classification, financial reporting, regulatory capital reporting, reconciliation, and cost basis infrastructure.
- Migrate infrastructure to Kubernetes and modernize deployment practices.
- Modernize observability and monitoring across the finance platform.
- Work with accountants, financial analysts, and operations teams to understand business problems, define requirements, test assumptions, and create architecture and delivery plans.
- Lead projects end-to-end through discovery, architecture, implementation, deployment, and support.
- Break large business requirements into shippable increments and deliver iteratively.
- Review code and design documents, unblock teammates, mentor engineers, and participate in a support rotation.
- Reduce operational burden through automation and better system design.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strength in at least one of Clojure or Python; experience with Ruby and PL/SQL is valuable.
- Experience in finance or accounting, including concepts such as PnL, reconciliation, general ledger, regulatory reporting, or cost basis.
- Strong system design skills, including architectural tradeoffs, distributed systems, reliability, and operability.
- Solid understanding of relational databases, including transactionality, indexing, performance tuning, and data modeling.
- Experience building and operating production systems with containers, CI/CD pipelines, and orchestration.
- Track record of mentoring engineers and contributing to engineering culture, with an ambition to grow technical leadership.
- Preferred experience includes deep Python expertise for data pipelines, scheduling, and tooling; Clojure or other Lisp-family languages; observability tooling; Oracle, Kafka, or Airflow; Kubernetes, Docker, and infrastructure-as-code; and reducing operational toil through automation.
