Responsibilities
- Partner with business development on late-stage deals and technical evaluations.
- Lead customer discovery around legacy payments systems, fund flows, and compliance constraints.
- Design and explain integrations involving wallets, payment APIs, KYC/KYB, risk and compliance services, widgets, SDKs, hosted components, and embedded payment experiences.
- Create reference architectures, integration diagrams, payment flow documentation, technical walkthroughs, demos, prototypes, and proof-of-concept integrations.
- Translate ambiguous customer requirements into concrete, scalable, and sellable technical scopes.
- Identify product gaps, negotiate technical tradeoffs, and shape roadmap and commercial decisions with Product, Engineering, Sales, and customers.
- Build lightweight prototypes, middleware, and example implementations while anticipating scale, failure modes, and operational complexity.
- Support initial customer implementations, early production issues, technical escalations, and handoffs to Support, Account Management, or Professional Services.
- Use AI tools for code generation, prototyping, documentation, diagram generation, and implementation guides.
Requirements
- Strong background in payments, fintech, or financial infrastructure.
- Hands-on familiarity with fund flows, settlement, reconciliation, disputes, and money movement.
- Deep familiarity with legacy payment systems and real-world integration constraints.
- Prior experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or highly technical pre-sales roles at payments companies.
- Ability to operate independently with minimal guidance and explain complex systems clearly to customers.
- Daily use of AI tools, including code-generation assistants, AI-driven prototyping environments, and LLM-based documentation tools.
- Ability to build working demos and proof-of-concept integrations quickly using AI assistance when appropriate.
- Comfort coding and building small technical solutions or prototypes.
- Solid understanding of APIs, webhooks, payment integrations, and system architecture.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with wallets, on-chain payments, blockchain infrastructure, global payment regulations such as PSD2 and SCA, Open Banking, regulated environments, distributed systems, Web3, and globally distributed teams.
