Responsibilities
- Design and implement observability architectures for backend services.
- Drive adoption and integration of the OpenTelemetry standard across services.
- Define and evolve observability best practices based on the Four Golden Signals.
- Lead the setup, tuning, and production operation of the OpenTelemetry Collector.
- Create monitoring and visualization dashboards based on customer requirements.
- Define observability strategies and present them to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Mentor teams and provide thought leadership on OpenTelemetry adoption.
- Operate and optimize large-scale production systems and customer-facing cloud services.
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based infrastructure on Azure, including Azure networking.
- Implement and manage monitoring and observability solutions for infrastructure performance.
- Support product feature rollouts and installations onto new cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate with product development teams and other developers and product managers.
Requirements
- 11–13 years of professional experience is stated.
- B.Tech or B.E. degree in Electronics and Telecommunication or Computer Science.
- Deep backend observability expertise and strong knowledge of OpenTelemetry, particularly the OpenTelemetry Collector.
- Experience with Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, or similar monitoring and visualization tools.
- Strong understanding of the Four Golden Signals.
- Hands-on experience operating and optimizing large-scale production systems.
- Demonstrable experience with Docker and Kubernetes containerization and orchestration.
- Demonstrable experience with CI/CD tools including Azure DevOps, Helm, and Argo CD.
- Experience with infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform.
- Experience with microservices development and deployment is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale databases and distributed technologies such as Kafka and Confluent Platform Kafka.
- Basic programming and scripting skills, preferably Python, Golang, or Bash shell.
- Expert knowledge of Azure Cloud and understanding of Azure networking, routing, load balancing, TCP/IP, HTTP, and DNS.
- Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Elasticsearch, OpenTelemetry, and Kibana for monitoring and observability.
- Strong interpersonal, listening, speaking, writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse, team-focused environment and learn complex applications.
- CKA or CKAD certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
