Responsibilities
- Develop query optimization, transaction management, and distributed data processing algorithms for the Core Mining Engine.
- Analyze and resolve system performance and scalability bottlenecks.
- Design and implement high-performance systems with parallel vectorized execution and efficient resource management.
- Build, launch, maintain, and document production features and development procedures.
- Provide design and code feedback, mentor teammates, and promote engineering best practices.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables while helping improve the engineering work environment and culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science is required; a Master's or Ph.D. is preferred.
- At least 3 years of hands-on software engineering experience is required.
- Significant experience with database internals or core components such as query optimization, query execution, storage engines, or transaction processing for large-scale data systems is required.
- Experience programming in modern C++ is required.
- Strong understanding of complex data structures, algorithms, and data management is required.
- Experience with systems such as StarRocks or ClickHouse is an example of relevant background.

- Base salary range for the New York full-time role is $161,000—$218,000 USD, excluding bonus, commission, equity, and benefits.
