Responsibilities
- Configure and optimize monitoring, alerting, and event management while reducing alert noise and improving monitoring hygiene.
- Automate observability workflows, enable self-service, and support observability-as-code, integrations, and AI-enabled capabilities.
- Partner with application teams to instrument services and standardize metrics, logs, traces, events, tagging, alerting, and data quality practices.
- Build and operate monitoring and observability solutions across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Create dashboards, visualizations, reports, and operational analyses to identify performance degradation, dependencies, and customer-impacting issues.
- Design, develop, code, debug, and troubleshoot software components while considering upstream and downstream systems.
- Use authorized AI-assisted development tools, automated testing, peer review, and secure coding practices to improve software delivery.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 2+ years of applied experience.
- Experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Monitoring, or Observability-related roles.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in one or more modern programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or Go.
- Experience with one or more of Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, or Datadog.
- Understanding of telemetry concepts including metrics, logs, traces, and alerting.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, distributed systems, and modern application architectures.
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Exposure to CI/CD, application resiliency, security, and agile development practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.
- Preferred: knowledge of monitoring standards, telemetry governance, and observability frameworks.
- Preferred: experience with automation, infrastructure as code, platform engineering, AI-assisted analytics, anomaly detection, operational intelligence, dashboards, and observability reporting.
