Base Salary
$200k - $280k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead deployment engagements end to end for assigned enterprise customers, from scoping through go-live and handoff.
- Build production-ready Vapi deployments involving assistants, squads, tools, structured outputs, telephony/SIP, webhooks, and integrations.
- Debug live production issues across call records, application logs, provider requests and responses, and infrastructure metrics.
- Own customer-facing GitOps repositories and dedicated cluster configuration.
- Manage technical and executive stakeholders across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Build platform work including outbound campaigns, evaluations, simulations, observability, CLI tooling, and MCP tooling to reduce deployment toil.
- Feed deployment insights back into the product roadmap.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional engineering experience.
- Experience in a technical role at an early-stage startup and familiarity with ambiguous, resource-constrained environments.
- Previous experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Solutions Engineer at a relevant company.
- Strong generalist engineering skills spanning UI/UX implementation, API design, data modeling, and systems architecture.
- Experience with one or more listed backend, frontend, language, database, deployment, and coding tools.
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Conceptual understanding of working with AI in production.
- Demonstrated proactive process improvement and bias toward action.
- Preferred qualifications include startup founding or personal project experience, AI/ML systems knowledge, infrastructure experience, real-time systems experience, project leadership, open-source contributions, and having shipped a product with real users.
