Responsibilities

  • Convert MuleSoft Mule XML and DataWeave applications into Spring Boot and plain-Java services deployed to AWS Lambda or Fargate.
  • Design configuration-driven integration services that allow multiple integrations to share a codebase.
  • Build, deploy, and operate services using Docker, ECR, Secrets Manager, S3, SNS/SQS, EventBridge, and CloudWatch.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, container publishing, multi-environment deployments, approvals, and rollbacks.
  • Automate migration workflows with scaffolds, templates, shared libraries, code generators, smoke-test harnesses, and drift checks.
  • Codify AWS infrastructure for Lambda, Fargate, IAM, eventing, storage, encryption, and secrets management using infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Use AI coding assistants for boilerplate, DataWeave-to-Java translation, test generation, and code review while validating their output.
  • Improve developer experience through local-run harnesses, environment bootstrapping, pre-commit hooks, linting, formatting, and faster builds.
  • Mentor developers, conduct code reviews, document standardized patterns, and collaborate with D365, Workday, and platform teams on REST, file-based, and event-based contracts.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional Java development experience.
  • Strong knowledge of modern Java 17 or 21, collections, streams, concurrency, HTTP clients, and Jackson JSON processing.
  • Strong Spring Boot and REST API design experience, including contracts, validation, error handling, and versioning.
  • Hands-on AWS experience with Lambda, Fargate or ECS, S3, Secrets Manager, IAM, CloudWatch, EventBridge, and SNS/SQS.
  • Strong CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions or GitLab CI or Jenkins, Docker, multi-environment promotion, secrets handling, and automated rollbacks.
  • Working knowledge of Terraform, AWS CDK, SAM, or CloudFormation.
  • Demonstrable daily use of AI coding assistants such as Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or Cody, with the ability to explain their limitations and safeguards.
  • Ability to read MuleSoft flows and DataWeave or ramp up quickly on them.
  • Understanding of SOLID, layered architecture, testability, idempotency, observability, Git workflows, code reviews, and written communication.
  • Preferred experience migrating MuleSoft or similar iPaaS platforms such as Boomi, webMethods, or Tibco to Java and Spring Boot.
  • Preferred experience with Dynamics 365 FO OData or Data Management APIs, Kafka, GraphQL, OAuth2, Azure AD, React, Angular, Python, Node.js, custom AI prompts or agents, MCP servers, or Copilot extensions.
  • Preferred familiarity with Datadog, New Relic, OpenTelemetry, structured logging, SLO alerting, OpenAPI, JSON Schema, MapStruct, JUnit 5, Mockito, Testcontainers, and financial or ERP integrations.
