Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable cloud-native microservices for SAP’s Order Management platform.
- Build AI-enabled features involving LLM integration, prompt management, basic RAG workflows, response validation, and AI output evaluation.
- Develop evaluation and benchmarking pipelines to measure AI quality and system performance.
- Participate in refinement, development, code review, deployment, and full-sprint delivery cycles.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automate build, testing, deployment, and operational processes.
- Monitor application health, latency, throughput, performance, and reliability, and proactively improve system efficiency.
- Troubleshoot production issues across application, integration, and infrastructure layers and drive root-cause analysis and permanent fixes.
- Use AI-assisted development tools across design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and service improvement while reviewing and validating generated code.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, product managers, data teams, platform teams, and AI teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Document technical knowledge, participate in code reviews, and help improve team capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2–5 years of professional software development experience.
- Professional experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot across the software development lifecycle.
- Strong proficiency in Java.
- Preferred experience with Spring Boot and hands-on REST API design, event-driven APIs, and asynchronous messaging such as Kafka.
- Knowledge of software engineering fundamentals, microservices architecture, cloud design patterns, and clean code.
- Experience with CI/CD tooling such as Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD.
- Working knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Experience building and operating cloud-based microservices, debugging production systems, and applying observability, monitoring, and performance-tuning practices.
- Knowledge of AI/LLM workflows, prompt design, basic RAG patterns, and integrating AI services into applications.
- Ability to work in an agile/scrum environment and collaborate across distributed, cross-functional teams.
- Nice-to-have knowledge of order management concepts such as order capture, fulfillment, ATP, and returns.
- Nice-to-have experience with observability and monitoring tools and knowledge of SAP BTP and Azure.
