Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy code for new and existing initiatives in the Sanctions application suite.
- Develop and maintain Java-based systems handling millions of customer and real-time transactions daily with sub-second response requirements.
- Implement REST, messaging, SOAP, XML, and JSON integrations using Apache Kafka and IBM MQ.
- Perform database design, SQL development, stored procedure work, and query tuning.
- Create architecture design review documents and contribute to software architecture, service design, and ecosystem modernization.
- Work with vendor and open-source technologies including Spring Integration, Actimize Case Management, Lexis Nexis CLINK, and ASM.
- Collaborate with global teams and apply iterative development practices to complex business and technical problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology, or a master’s degree in Software Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience developing Java-based systems, including Core Java, Java APIs, and JDBC.
- Experience with Apache Kafka, database design, SQL, procedures, query tuning, REST services, JSON, IBM MQ, SOAP, and XML.
- Knowledge of object-oriented and functional development, microservices, SOA, service design, and high-quality software architecture.
- Experience with Linux and shell scripts; Angular UI experience is a plus.
- Ability to modernize technology ecosystems iteratively and produce architecture design review documents.
- Financial domain knowledge and understanding of AML and customer risk-ranking quantitative methodologies are advantageous.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, judgment, adaptability, and teamwork skills.
- Oracle Certified Java Associate certification is listed for the role.
