Responsibilities

  • Develop responsive Next.js and React interfaces with Mapbox geospatial visualizations and technical data dashboards.
  • Build data grids and visualizations using MUI X and Vega-Lite for large power-grid and renewable-energy datasets.
  • Design and maintain REST APIs, API contracts, database schemas, and gRPC integrations.
  • Extend automated UI and unit test coverage using Cypress, Playwright, Vitest, and Pytest.
  • Debug issues across the full request/response cycle and recommend architecture improvements.
  • Containerize features with Docker and deploy them to AWS infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with energy and power-systems experts to translate requirements into software.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of production experience with React, Next.js, or similar frontend frameworks, including TypeScript or JavaScript.
  • 3+ years of experience with Django or a similar backend framework, including Python.
  • Experience designing and implementing REST APIs and using gRPC services.
  • Strong PostgreSQL and relational database design skills, including performance optimization for data-heavy applications.
  • Familiarity with Material UI, Mapbox GL, GeoJSON, Vega-Lite, and modern React component libraries is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, containerized development, and AWS deployment.
  • Strong experience with Git, GitHub, and cloud-based CI/CD workflows.
  • Experience with Cypress, Playwright, Pytest, and Vitest.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and a STEM degree are preferred.
