Responsibilities
- Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle to create, modify, test, validate, implement, and support software products.
- Design and deliver moderately complex program specifications, code, application documentation, and implementation plans across multiple projects.
- Analyze, modify, develop, debug, and unit test complex code while recommending corrective and systemic solutions.
- Create user stories, acceptance criteria, screen mock-ups, flow diagrams, and other project and system documentation.
- Gather and verify non-functional requirements, review architectures and designs, and develop strategies to validate target requirements.
- Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with developers, analysts, product owners, test analysts, clients, vendors, and business teams.
- Advise leadership on application standards, controls, procedures, monitoring, data accuracy, and PCI security compliance.
- Participate in client-facing meetings and determine solution approaches with joint venture and vendor partnership teams.
- Develop or recommend billable-hour and resource estimates for complex initiatives, projects, and issues.
- Assist with on-the-job training and provide expertise and advice to software engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of professional experience coding, designing, developing, and analyzing data.
- Required experience with COBOL, IMS, and DB2.
- Experience with two or more enterprise programming languages or technologies, APIs, external services, and relational or NoSQL databases.
- Preferred 4–6+ years of professional experience and experience with IBM Rational Tools.
- Experience with Agile Scrum methodology and related project artifacts such as user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Ability to collaborate with developers, analysts, product owners, clients, and other counterparts while analyzing problems and recommending approaches.
