Responsibilities

  • Own and build features and services used daily by hundreds of thousands of Klaviyo customers.
  • Craft and evolve a highly scalable, highly available campaign pipeline processing hundreds of millions of messages daily and growing toward billions.
  • Collaborate with teams and stakeholders on designs, implementations, and engineering practices.
  • Evaluate and apply new technologies to improve messaging systems.
  • Improve experimentation and development processes.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute as a subject matter expert.
  • Participate in the technical interview process.

Requirements

  • At least four years of software engineering experience and experience architecting, building, and delivering a complex system.
  • Experience with large-scale system architecture, technologies, and patterns, including making appropriate design tradeoffs.
  • Ability to investigate and resolve performance, scalability, database query, workflow, and queue-processing issues.
  • Familiarity with data-driven product improvement, system monitoring, and alerting techniques.
  • Proven experience coaching and mentoring team members.
  • Ability to work effectively on small, autonomous teams and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.
