Base Salary

$200k - $275k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Technically oversee architecture, development, and deployment of an off-board Embodied AI and LLM monitoring and evaluation framework.
  • Ingest and fuse scene descriptions, ego-centric kinematics, autonomy telemetry, vehicle logs, and fleet data for diagnostic analysis.
  • Develop structured prompting templates using contextual prompting, chain-of-thought, and in-context learning to evaluate driving scenarios.
  • Integrate foundation models into the Metrics Engine and design cascade filtering and parallelized log-slice processing for scalable inference.
  • Define and implement autonomous vehicle performance metrics covering capabilities such as lane changes, oscillations, and braking.
  • Deploy and manage a RAG vector database containing codified autonomous vehicle driving policies.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point and collaborate with Planner, Prediction, Perception, and Systems teams.
  • Advance Direct Vector-LLM Fusion and open-weights VLA model applications for off-board telemetry analysis.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering, applied AI/ML, or autonomous vehicle systems development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with LLMs and VLMs for reasoning, parsing, and scene description.
  • Experience with parameter-efficient fine-tuning and deploying open-weights models on internal infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with local and cloud vector databases, such as LanceDB, for storing vector embeddings.
  • Experience with adversarial scenario generation and closed-loop simulation environments.
  • Strong experience developing software frameworks, libraries, and tools for calculating and aggregating autonomous vehicle performance metrics.
  • Expert-level Python proficiency and strong software development fundamentals.
  • Preferred experience with autonomous vehicle sensor data processing and integration.
  • Preferred experience with data pipeline orchestration tools and distributed data processing frameworks.
  • Preferred expertise managing AWS or GCP infrastructure for large-scale data processing.
  • Preferred familiarity with Ray and Ray clusters for scaling Python applications and AI/ML tasks.
  • Preferred expertise with C++ programming for data frameworks.

  • Expected travel of 1–2 weeks each quarter to testing sites, primarily Las Vegas and other domestic locations.
