Responsibilities
- Own the full software lifecycle from analysis and design through development, automated testing, release, and production operations.
- Build and enhance backend services and APIs for HSBC’s margin and risk platform.
- Deliver production releases, follow change processes, and provide operational support and incident response.
- Strengthen security and vulnerability management through remediation and continuous hardening.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and global technology teams to design maintainable solutions.
- Align implementations with strategic architecture and support frequent releases across distributed teams.
Requirements
- Experience building backend services with core Java and Spring Boot or Spring Framework.
- Experience developing REST APIs and delivering solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with Cloud Run, Google Kubernetes Engine, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Google Cloud Storage, Secret Manager, and Identity and Access Management is required for the stated platform environment.
- Understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, and caching strategies.
- Experience creating automated unit, integration, and regression tests using JUnit.
- Ability to work in Agile and DevOps delivery models, interpret requirements, and translate them into maintainable technical designs.
- Ability to support production services with a focus on operational stability and incident response.
