Responsibilities
- Own the technical strategy and roadmap for a major area of the Voyager SDK application layer.
- Set technical direction for image pre/post-processing operators and decoders and partner with the compiler team on difficult compilation issues.
- Drive integration of industry-standard model frameworks and define reusable libraries and architectures for low-code and no-code model and dataset deployment.
- Define company-wide metadata representations and own libraries for model accuracy evaluation and inference-result visualization on Axelera AI hardware.
- Own end-to-end pipeline latency and throughput, investigate bottlenecks, and build profiling tools and frameworks.
- Represent the Applications team with business stakeholders, customers, and industry partners when relevant.
- Mentor and develop engineers and drive documentation standards and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, with typically 8+ years of hands-on experience in the semiconductor and/or AI industry.
- Deep hands-on expertise with edge deployment frameworks such as OpenVINO or TensorRT.
- Experience with GPU computing APIs including OpenCL and Vulkan.
- Strong experience applying model optimization techniques such as quantization, compression, and pruning.
- Expert proficiency in AI application development with Python and extensive experience with PyTorch and TensorFlow.
- Expert proficiency in Python and C++.
- Experience architecting, building, and deploying end-to-end pipelines with quantized models at scale and creating reusable frameworks.
- Experience training models through transfer learning using pre-trained models.
- Experience with MLIR and ONNXRuntime is a plus.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, exercise sound technical judgment, and deliver outcomes on complex problems.
- Strong communication, influencing, stakeholder-management, and external representation skills.
- Experience mentoring engineers and raising a team’s technical bar.
- Proficient Linux skills.
- Practical knowledge of development using Jira, Git, and GitHub.
