Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the architecture of a scalable, resilient, highly available distributed Investment Accounting platform.
- Design modular microservices, event-driven workflows, data architecture, integration patterns, unified data models, event contracts, and consistency strategies.
- Lead modernization of legacy VC++ systems into Java-based distributed services, including migration patterns, decomposition strategies, and transformation roadmaps.
- Guide engineering teams in translating low-level C++ constructs into stateless, asynchronous Java service patterns.
- Architect high-throughput, low-latency transaction-processing and near-real-time accounting workflows.
- Establish distributed caching, in-memory processing, read/write optimization, performance benchmarks, scalability patterns, and capacity-planning principles.
- Design and implement cloud-native capabilities, including containerization, orchestration, observability, resiliency patterns, security, compliance, API-first design, and contract-first design.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in software architecture and distributed-systems design.
- Strong programming background in VC++ and Java, with proven experience modernizing systems.
- Experience with AWS or Azure and modern CI/CD platforms and pipeline-as-code practices.
- Deep expertise in event-driven architecture, microservices, domain-driven design, and high-performance, low-latency systems.
- Experience building large-scale distributed systems with high throughput and low latency.
- Strong understanding of data consistency, transaction processing, and accounting-like systems.
- Preferred experience with investment accounting or financial-services platforms, including transactions, valuations, positions, and multi-currency processing.
- Familiarity with observability and operational-intelligence frameworks, unified data models, ledger-based architectures, and regulatory or audit-heavy environments.
