Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, review, and debug secure, high-quality production software.
- Build distributed systems using Java and deliver solutions across multiple technical areas.
- Lead team adoption of approved AI-assisted engineering tools for coding, code review, testing, troubleshooting, and remediation automation.
- Establish validation standards covering secure coding, peer review, automated testing, correctness, performance, and security of AI-assisted outputs.
- Coach engineers on responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Identify automation opportunities that improve application and system operational stability.
- Lead evaluation sessions with vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical applicability.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience designing and developing distributed systems using Java.
- Experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security.
- Proficiency across the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, application resiliency, and security.
- Preferred: practical cloud-native experience and familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
