Responsibilities
- Support the reliability, availability, performance, and operational health of CarShare applications, Global Booking Orchestration services, and related technology platforms.
- Monitor systems, alerts, performance trends, and operational risks to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, typically every six weeks, for production incidents and service disruptions.
- Coordinate incident resolution, releases, deployments, root-cause analysis, and preventative improvements.
- Support integrations among booking platforms, vehicle systems, external vendors, and downstream services.
- Collaborate with product, infrastructure, security, vendor, and business teams on enhancements, maintenance, and technology upgrades.
- Maintain system dependency documentation, operational procedures, support materials, and troubleshooting guides.
- Improve platform stability, scalability, supportability, monitoring, automation, and operational processes.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience supporting enterprise Java applications in production, especially RESTful web services using Spring or Spring Boot.
- Experience with Git-based source control, such as Bitbucket, and peer code reviews.
- Knowledge of API design best practices and experience with API testing tools such as Postman and SoapUI.
- Experience troubleshooting APIs, application integrations, and distributed system interactions across multiple platforms.
- Experience with incident management, root-cause analysis, and supporting technology changes across multiple platforms.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code using established coding standards and design patterns.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to incorporating security, reliability, and operational excellence into daily work.
- Preferred bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- Preferred experience with customer-facing digital platforms, RESTful JSON and SOAP-based APIs, cloud environments, cloud-native architectures, mobility or connected-vehicle technology, third-party integrations, Jira, Confluence, and Agile methodologies.
