Responsibilities
- Understand products from business, workflow, and data-flow perspectives and own high-level tests and follow-up on failures.
- Design, implement, and execute test plans, scenarios, and cases based on business and technical requirements.
- Perform functional, integration, system, regression, negative, exploratory, and end-to-end testing for cloud-native applications and APIs.
- Design, develop, maintain, and improve automation frameworks and scripts for web, API, and backend services.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and improve automation coverage, reliability, and execution efficiency.
- Test applications deployed on cloud platforms, including containerized and distributed systems, and validate scalability, resiliency, failover, auto-scaling, and multi-environment deployments.
- Validate data flows and business logic across services and databases using SQL queries.
- Drive integration testing, regression planning, release testing, and collaboration across teams and products.
- Identify, document, track, and analyze defects, including defect leakage and production root causes.
- Collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Managers, Platform teams, and delivery teams on requirements, scenarios, and quality improvements.
- Mentor junior Quality Engineers through reviews, guidance, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in software quality engineering and testing.
- Strong experience with manual and automated testing of web, API, and backend applications.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Cucumber, or similar testing tools and frameworks.
- Experience testing microservices-based architectures and distributed systems.
- Experience with API testing using REST/JSON, Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
- Experience testing applications on public cloud platforms; GCP is preferred, while AWS or Azure is acceptable.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, containers, and orchestration.
- Experience integrating automated tests into build and deployment workflows.
- Exposure to monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
- Ability to write and execute SQL queries for data validation and test execution.
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, independence, attention to detail, and continuous-learning skills.
