Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, enhance, and modernize legacy enterprise applications.
- Develop and sustain Python applications, including concurrent or multiprocess systems.
- Support real-time and event-driven architectures, queues, producer or consumer pipelines, and distributed systems.
- Use AWS services, containers, and infrastructure-as-code to operate and improve applications.
- Design, debug, and test software components against design specifications, including unit and integration testing.
- Upgrade systems to meet security requirements and resolve operational issues.
- Advise clients on improving and modernizing existing systems.
- Lead design and code reviews and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Process scientific data using scientific or geospatial Python libraries.
- Work in an Agile and DevSecOps environment using source control and build or deployment automation.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience developing and sustaining Python applications, including concurrent or multiprocess systems, in an Agile environment.
- At least 3 years of experience with real-time or event-driven architectures, queues, producer or consumer pipelines, distributed systems, or microservices systems.
- Experience with AWS cloud services, including S3, Batch, Lambda, or Step Functions.
- Experience with Docker and infrastructure-as-code tools such as CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
- Experience with NumPy, SciPy, pandas, and pyproj or similar scientific or geospatial Python libraries.
- Experience designing, debugging, and testing software components, including unit or integration testing.
- Knowledge of Git and CI/CD pipelines in a DevSecOps environment.
- Ability to lead design and code reviews and collaborate cross-functionally.
- TS/SCI clearance or eligibility for access to classified information is required.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Preferred experience includes AWS Batch, ECR, Step Functions, OpenSearch, SQS/SNS, Kinesis, statistical or optimization methods, Flask or another lightweight Python web framework, JavaScript, shell scripting, and build or deployment automation.
- Preferred ability to comprehend scientific algorithms and their supporting theories.
