Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, document, maintain, and optimize .NET backend services and related data access.
- Own backend architecture, RESTful API strategy, versioning, security, performance, and cross-team API contracts.
- Design and optimize Microsoft SQL Server schemas, queries, and data layers, including investigation of SQL performance issues.
- Establish standards and review practices for agentic IDE and AI-generated code development.
- Partner with frontend, web and mobile, product, design, and DevOps teams to deliver cohesive features and operationally ready releases.
- Review code and merge requests while improving testing, CI/CD automation, observability, release discipline, reliability, and performance.
- Debug production issues, monitor system health, respond to critical incidents, and drive fixes for instability or regressions.
- Provide technical estimates, communicate progress and risks, and mentor junior and intermediate developers through pairing and feedback.
- Lead improvements to engineering practices and processes and help lead a scrum team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Typically 7+ years of .NET experience and/or experience with other object-oriented programming languages.
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, C#, Web APIs, MVC, ASP.NET, RESTful APIs, Microsoft SQL Server, and T-SQL.
- Deep experience owning RESTful API design, versioning, security, performance, and cross-team contracts at scale.
- Habitual use of an agentic coding IDE such as Cursor and experience setting review standards for AI-generated code across a team.
- In-depth understanding of JavaScript and familiarity with ES6.
- Experience with object-oriented design patterns, SQL best practices, code versioning tools such as Git, and Agile methodologies.
- Ability to work in a cloud-based environment; AWS experience is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with leading a scrum team and experience designing and operating third-party API integrations at scale are valued.
- Exposure to fitness or wellness products, multi-tenant SaaS, high-traffic APIs, cloud-native tooling, containers, observability, or modern TypeScript SaaS stacks is a plus.
