Responsibilities

Lead architecture proposals and hands-on implementation for scalable streaming and batch data platforms.
Build and operate high-volume real-time location telemetry and predictive analytics pipelines.
Design event-driven systems using Kafka and Kafka Streams.
Define and evolve data models across PostgreSQL and other relational or columnar data stores.
Deploy and optimize containerized workloads in Kubernetes on AWS using infrastructure as code.
Integrate hospital systems, location prediction engines, patient flow platforms, and clinical data feeds.
Apply AI-assisted development, code review, observability, and testing workflows using tools such as Claude and GitHub Copilot.
Identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks and own performance and load testing for compute-intensive services.
Maintain CI/CD workflows, production reliability, and zero-downtime deployments.
Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for platform reliability.

6+ years of software engineering experience with distributed systems at scale.
Proven experience leading architecture proposals and delivering them to production.
Deep expertise with Kafka, Kafka Streams, event-driven architecture, and high-throughput pipelines.
Strong production experience deploying, operating, and optimizing Kubernetes workloads.
Experience with Spring Boot or a comparable JVM microservices framework.
Hands-on AWS experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform, CDK, or equivalent.
Knowledge of CI/CD, test automation, and version control best practices.
Demonstrated daily use of AI coding tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent.
Strong written and verbal communication in English.
Working knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements is preferred.
AWS EMR experience, including Spark, Flink, or large-scale batch compute, is preferred.
Experience integrating with EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or HL7/FHIR is preferred.
Healthcare IoT or real-time location systems experience is preferred.
