Responsibilities
- Conduct feasibility studies, estimates, IT planning, risk analysis, application development, model development, and implementation of new or revised systems.
- Lead application analysis, design, construction, testing, implementation, post-implementation review, and user and operational support.
- Analyze complex application and business-process issues, recommend programming solutions, and advise users, clients, and technology groups.
- Design and deliver enterprise applications, including mainframe modernization, microservices, APIs, messaging, and cloud-oriented solutions.
- Lead and direct software engineering teams and serve as a technical subject-matter expert, advisor, and coach to junior analysts.
- Establish operating standards and processes, automate development and testing activities, and support CI/CD pipelines and deployment tooling.
- Ensure enterprise transaction-processing systems meet recovery, stability, reliability, scalability, performance, compliance, and risk-control requirements.
- Own delivery responsibilities end to end while collaborating with remote teams across geographies and organizational lines.
Requirements
- Graduate or postgraduate degree in engineering or computer science.
- 10–12 years of hands-on experience in technical design and delivery of enterprise applications, especially in cards and payments.
- Demonstrated experience leading and directing software development or engineering teams.
- Experience with Core Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, and enterprise application development.
- Experience with mainframe modernization and technologies such as IBM z/OS, COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, and DB2, including SYSPLEX or CICSPLEX environments.
- Experience with microservices architecture, API gateways, SOAP or REST web services, Open APIs, and modern event-driven or distributed systems.
- Experience with databases such as DB2, Oracle, and MongoDB and messaging or publish-subscribe technologies such as Kafka and Solace.
- Proficiency with Git, CI/CD practices, CI/CD pipelines, deployment tooling, automated testing, and development-process automation.
- Solid experience with Agile development methodologies and Scrum, preferably in large teams.
- Practical experience using AI tools and prompt engineering in daily enterprise development workflows.
- Experience with performance tuning and high-volume transaction-processing systems, with a focus on recovery, reliability, scalability, and stability.
- Knowledge of cards and payments industry fundamentals and trends, strong analytical and problem-solving ability, communication skills, collaboration, adaptability, and customer focus.
