Base Salary

$173k - $258k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design and hands-on development of AI applications, services, and platforms using LLM application stacks, retrieval-augmented generation, evaluation frameworks, and scalable serving.
  • Define long-term architecture, reusable standards, and platforms for Applied AI systems across multiple product areas.
  • Translate business opportunities into roadmaps and shipped AI products with measurable success metrics and outcomes.
  • Coordinate with adjacent engineering groups to align AI patterns, reuse components, and avoid duplication.
  • Evaluate emerging AI capabilities and implement secure, production-grade systems and best practices.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Audit, and Security to establish governance, privacy, security, safety, and reporting practices.
  • Promote AI literacy and adoption through demonstrations, guidance, and technical leadership.
  • Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and improve code quality, reliability, observability, and AI workload cost/performance.
  • Establish evaluation, guardrail, monitoring, offline-metric, online-metric, and SLO practices for AI systems.
  • Optimize AI workload latency, throughput, and cost and guide make-or-buy decisions and vendor integrations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 8 years of software engineering experience delivering complex, production-ready systems in enterprise environments.
  • Deep technical knowledge of AI/ML and hands-on experience building and deploying language-model solutions, retrieval or grounding systems, embeddings, vector search, and evaluation systems.
  • Experience translating ambiguous business problems into robust AI products with measurable business impact.
  • Experience defining and evolving architectures, standards, and platforms used across multiple teams.
  • Strong familiarity with security, privacy, compliance, safety, and auditability for enterprise AI systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse teams.
  • Curiosity and ability to learn and apply new technologies through hands-on development and continuous learning.
