Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, high-performance data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, storage, and retrieval.
- Build vector database solutions using AWS OpenSearch or Azure AI Search for similarity search and RAG applications.
- Build graph database solutions using Neo4j or AWS Neptune to support GraphRAG, multi-hop reasoning, and explainability.
- Develop cloud-based data solutions using AWS or Azure, including storage and search services.
- Design and optimize Snowflake-based data storage and processing solutions.
- Develop ETL/ELT pipelines for real-time and batch data processing.
- Integrate data pipelines with AI model fine-tuning, inference, and training workflows.
- Collaborate with AI engineers, data scientists, product owners, and developers to integrate LLMs into scalable end-user applications.
- Process structured, semi-structured, and unstructured documents including PDF, DOCX, CSV, and JSON files.
- Implement data governance, security, compliance, monitoring, alerting, and logging for reliable data operations.
- Use agentic software development practices and review both human-written and AI-generated code.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably supporting AI or ML applications.
- Production-grade Python programming and advanced SQL query development.
- Experience designing scalable, fault-tolerant ETL/ELT pipelines and Lakehouse architectures.
- Hands-on expertise with orchestration tools such as Airflow.
- Experience with RAG, vector databases, LLM fine-tuning, and AI data preparation.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
- Hands-on AWS experience, preferably including OpenSearch, S3, and Lambda.
- Experience with graph databases or GraphDB solutions.
- Ability to design and integrate RESTful APIs and understand data security, encryption, and role-based access controls.
- Preferred experience in regulated industries, data science, classical machine learning, Apache Spark, or Flink.
- Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Engineering, or higher in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent qualification.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, organization, and stakeholder consulting skills.
- English proficiency at C1+ level and willingness to act as a technical lead when needed.
