Base Salary
$87k - $198k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and modernize production-ready systems supporting federal medical device review.
- Develop Java applications using modern frameworks and migrate legacy Java technologies to modern platforms.
- Develop responsive and accessible user interfaces with a modern JavaScript framework.
- Design databases, write and optimize SQL, and perform advanced database performance tuning.
- Provide production support and resolve application issues.
- Deploy containerized applications to cloud environments and use development and DevOps tools.
- Evaluate emerging tools and techniques, recommend system improvements, and account for broader architecture, operations, and scalability.
- Complete the required skills assessment and participate in government vetting when selected.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software development experience.
- 6+ years of Java experience, including Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA, or RESTful web services.
- 3+ years of experience with a modern JavaScript framework such as React.js, Vue, or Angular.js, including responsive and accessible UI development.
- Experience using an AI IDE such as Claude Code or Cursor.
- Experience with database design and writing and optimizing SQL using databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with legacy Java technologies such as J2EE, JSP, or Servlets and with developing migration strategies.
- Experience providing production support and issue resolution.
- Knowledge of containerization, cloud deployment, and tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, Git, and Jenkins.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with Jira, Confluence, Selenium, JUnit, JavaScript testing libraries, stored procedures, advanced database performance tuning, and federal health agencies.
