Base Salary

$250k - $400k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the technical architecture for humanoid robotics software across perception, planning, control, and learned behaviors.
  • Write production-quality Python and C++ code and deploy it to physical robots.
  • Design, train, evaluate, and deploy learning-based policies for manipulation and locomotion.
  • Build demonstrations across multiple robot hardware platforms to validate capabilities and inform the product roadmap.
  • Establish simulation infrastructure and validate robot behaviors in physics-based environments before hardware deployment.
  • Instrument robots, analyze telemetry and failure data, and improve robustness in real-world conditions.
  • Develop teleoperation and data-collection pipelines to generate training data and reduce the sim-to-real gap.
  • Recruit additional engineers for the robotics team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • At least seven years of robotics software development experience, including meaningful work on physical humanoid, legged, or highly dexterous manipulation platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience shipping behavior cloning, reinforcement learning, or VLA policies to real robots in production or near-production settings.
  • Strong Python and C++ proficiency for robotics and machine-learning systems, with experience using PyTorch or equivalent deep-learning frameworks.
  • Deep knowledge of kinematics, dynamics, control theory, state estimation, and perception.
  • Experience developing and evaluating visuomotor or multimodal policies from data collection through deployment.
  • Ability to work independently, make architectural decisions with limited information, and build systems from scratch.
  • Comfort debugging physical robots, running hardware-in-the-loop tests, and iterating on live systems.
  • Preferred experience with bi-dexterous mobile hardware, dexterous manipulation, whole-body control, hardware bring-up, sensor integration, embedded systems, SLAM, 3D perception, sensor fusion, physics simulators, ROS/ROS2, and robot-learning publications or open-source contributions.
