Responsibilities
- Design and develop reusable Golang CI/CD plugins and GitLab pipeline extensions for enterprise use.
- Build and maintain shared pipeline libraries, custom plugins, and GitLab CI components.
- Develop internal developer-platform services for pipeline orchestration, build caching, artifact management, and deployment automation.
- Debug CI plugin failures, pipeline execution issues, and developer-reported platform defects.
- Collaborate with application engineering teams to identify pipeline pain points and deliver platform improvements.
- Write unit and integration tests and maintain code quality for platform services and CI plugins.
- Document plugin APIs, pipeline extension points, and developer onboarding guides.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response for enterprise DevOps production issues.
- Evaluate new CI/CD tooling, plugin frameworks, and pipeline technologies.
- Manage user entitlements and access-management tooling.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in DevOps, platform, or CI/CD-focused roles.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Go, Python, or Java.
- Strong experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration.
- Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Familiarity with security scanning, secrets management, and DevSecOps practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across engineering teams.
- Preferred experience with Istio or Linkerd service mesh technologies.
- Preferred contributions to open-source DevOps or platform-tooling projects and familiarity with the CNCF ecosystem, including Argo, Flux, or Backstage.
- Preferred working knowledge of Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent coding assistants.
- Preferred familiarity with compliant software development lifecycle practices, including security gates, audit trails, and regulated change management.
